The library working hours are:
Monday to Friday: 08:00 A.M. to 09:00 P.M.
Saturday 08:00 AM to 05:00 P.M
These timings are for all working days. There will be a Friday prayer break from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Library Help Desk provides services from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.
The library remains closed on public holidays.
The following shall be eligible to become members of the Library if they apply for it.
(i) Faculty members or research staff of the university.
(ii) Members of the university Authorities.
(iii) Officers of the university.
(iv) Students on roll of the university.
(v) Other non-academic permanent staff members.
(vi) Alumni, Retired Teachers and other retired employees of good standing on their written request may be admitted as Associate members with the approval of the President or Executive Vice President on such terms and conditions as may be determined by him.
(i) The Library Card shall be required at the Library counter for borrowing and returning Library books.
(ii) In case the Library Card is lost are badly damaged the concerned student/member shall immediately report in writing to the Library. A duplicate Library Card will be issued on payment of Rs.50/- (Fifty only).
(i) Students may not invite/bring their outsider friends/guests to the Library for chatting.
(ii) Students will not be permitted to carry their personal belongings etc inside the Library like bags, big purses, folders, jackets, overalls and overcoats. Such items must be left outside the library entrance.
(iii) Eating sleeping, singing and smoking inside the Library premises will be strictly prohibited.
(iv) Students may avoid to write on Library books etc or to tear of books pages, or inscribe on furniture or walls of the Library.
(v) The Library staff will make intermittent round of the Library and will be authorised to check/inspect the books in possession of the student inside the Library.
(VI) Students must leave the Library books after reading, on the table or on open empty shelve instead of placing them with other books in the Books shelve.
(VII) In case of violation of Library discipline the Librarian will be fully authorised to tackle the matter on the spot.
(i) Subject to availability and other conditions member of the Library shall be entitled for issuance of Library books except the Reference Books or Reserved Material.
(ii) An employee or a student leaving the university shall be required to obtain No Demand Certificate from the Incharge Library before payment of dues.
(i) The material of the following nature shall be treated as Reserved/Reference materials and will not be meant for issuance to the members.
(ii) Reference Books i.e Encyclopaedias, Dictionaries, Reports or any other material which is declared as reserved;
(iii) Current periodicals and newspapers shall be available for reading within the Library and will not be allowed to be taken out side the Library premises.
(iii) Hand written Books or scripts;
(iv) Rare Books and Documents:
(v) Periodicals/Journals and serials;
(vi) Microfilms, Photo stats of Rare Documents, Audio and Video Tapes;
(vii) Any other material at the discretion of the Librarian.
(i) Students shall be entitled to borrow two (2) books at a time for a period of seven (7) days against their valid Library card.
(ii)Textbooks will be issued for three (3) days.
(iii) PhD Students shall be entitled to borrow three (3) books at a time for a period of thirty (30) days against their valid Library card.
(iv) Reissue of a book will be regretted if there are other borrowing requests for its issuance.
(v) In case the return of issued book is needed, the Librarian may call back that at a two-day notice. In case of default a fine will be levied by the Librarian.
(vi) Borrowers or readers while taking the books will ensure that books being issued are not damaged or mutilated.
(vii) In case borrowed books are lost, or found damaged or mutilated by the borrowers. He/she will be required to replace it with new one or shall pay double of the replacement value of books.
(viii) The requests of students for issuance of already issued books may be booked and issued on return on first come first serve basis.
(ix) Reservation is valid only for one day. Reserved book will not be issued before 2p.m. All reservation will be cancelled at the end of the day
(x) A borrower who fails to return the library book/s on due date, shall have to pay a fine of Rs. 5/- per day per volume, up to a maximum of double the replacement cost of the book/s.
(i) This room will be exclusively for study purposes where students may study individually or in groups. They may discuss their study and subject matter in a low voice avoiding disturbance to others.
